Feed My Sheep Art DVDs, designed to supplement the Feed My Sheep text (please see related review) are like having Mr. Stebbing right there in your home or class. The seven DVDs include all the lessons in the 4-year-curriculum text and make a great complement to the book. If you’re a auditory learner or learn from seeing demonstrations, you may find it easier to work from the DVD series.
Barry Stebbing’s DVD lessons are clear and concise. He uses the time for each lesson to explain and demonstrate exactly how to create the drawing. He talks about God’s Plan and how in nature we find God’s design. We are able to understand God’s plan better when we learn to draw the patterns and beauty found in nature.
My kids really liked the DVD lessons for two reasons. 1) They liked the way that Barry Stebbing explained how to draw, teaching fundamental techniques in a step-by-step way, so they could follow and draw just as instructed. 2) They especially liked being able to replay the portions that they didn’t understand or that they wanted to hear again. This was very helpful when drawing for perspective and practicing drawing the same item from different angles.
We found the DVD set a helpful tool and great addition to our art lessons.
