Take a list of controversial and thought-provoking questions, add in well-known Christian authors, philosophers, and scientists, and stir well. The result might look a great deal like The New Answers Book 3: Over 35 Questions on Creation/Evolution and the Bible. Creation and evolution aren’t the only topics, though these are explored through such questions as:
- Where was the Garden of Eden located?
- What did Noah’s Ark look like?
- What are “Kinds” in Genesis?
- How Old Does the Earth Look?
- Does Evolution Have a Chance?
- Did Life Come from Outer Space?
The implications of your worldview (i.e. Do you believe in a literal six-day creation or are you an advocate of the theory of evolution, or something in between?) are also explored, in questions like “Abortion: Is It Really a Matter of Life and Death?” and “What about Eugenics and Planned Parenthood?” I particularly found “Is Man the Cause of Global Warming?” to be timely and interesting.
Questions about the content of the Bible include “Wasn’t the Bible Written by Mere Men?” and “Isn’t the God of the Old Testament Harsh, Brutal, and Downright Evil?” as well as, “Did Bible Authors Believe in a Literal Genesis?”
Black and white illustrations and photographs are included in the text to add interest and clarity, along with footnotes. The book contains an index for ease of reference, as well as a brief paragraph for each of the 24 contributors, describing their background, expertise, and accomplishments.
